Government data
BLS occupational employment, projections, utilization factors, and other official statistics anchor the employment baseline and structural comparison.
The evidence behind EOL’s occupation assessments, forecast comparisons, and working outlooks.
Government statistics, academic research, forecasting platforms, industry evidence, company deployments, and other sources serve different roles. Company and vendor evidence may establish capability, adoption, deployment, or economics; it is not treated as a neutral labor-market forecast.
EOL does not assign every source the same analytical role. A source that is strong evidence of technical capability may be weak evidence of aggregate employment effects, and vice versa.
BLS occupational employment, projections, utilization factors, and other official statistics anchor the employment baseline and structural comparison.
Metaculus provides an independent probabilistic comparison where EOL can establish a defensible occupation match. Broader proxies are labeled explicitly.
Academic studies, benchmarks, payroll research, and other empirical work inform capability, productivity, adoption, and emerging labor-market effects.
Product releases, deployments, case studies, filings, and industry statistics help establish what is commercially possible and actually being adopted.
The goal is not to eliminate judgment. It is to make the boundary between observation, interpretation, and forecast judgment visible.
Occupation evidence is classified according to how directly it maps to the occupation under review. Exact matches, broader parent-category proxies, sector evidence, and adjacent evidence are not treated as interchangeable.
Live forecasting pages can change. EOL records the values used for the current assessment and identifies the date on which those values were observed.
Government, academic, forecasting, industry, company, and media sources carry different evidentiary strengths. EOL uses them for the claims they can actually support rather than applying a universal source hierarchy.
Source facts feed the six-stage assessment and Evidence Synthesis. EOL’s working range is an analytical judgment built from that evidence, not a numerical aggregation of source scores or external forecasts.
